Barre Strength Program is a fitness method designed by Andrea Fornarola, owner and operator of Elements Fitness and Dance, LLC. This method is a fusion of isometric exercises and interval training coupled with the principles of Ballet conditioning, Yoga, and Pilates. This method is a revolutionary conditioning system that reshapes and reforms the body. The class is choreographed with a series of exercises linked together strategically to follow ballet barre conditioning and “The Principle of Overload”.
“Definition: The principle of overload states that a greater than normal stress or load on the body is required for training adaptation to take place. The body will adapt to this stimulus. Once the body has adapted then a different stimulus is required to continue the change. In order for a muscle (including the heart) to increase strength, it must be gradually stressed by working against a load greater than it is used to. To increase endurance, muscles must work for a longer period of time than they are used to. If this stress is removed or decreased there will be a decrease in that particular component of fitness. A normal amount of exercise will maintain the current fitness level.


The Elements Barre Strength class is a 60 minute fitness class that consists of exercises executed at the ballet barre, in the center of the room, and on the ground. These exercises use hand weights, the playground ball, stretching band, yoga blocks, and mats. The class is structured to work each major muscle group for a specific length of time.

 

Power Barre Stretch

Power Barre Stretch is a fabulous complement to your regular Barre Strength class as it allows you to access, lengthen, and stretch deep into your muscles while engaging a strong core, mind/body connection.  This class will help create balance, strength and grace in your body.
